About Our Mission
Testimonials from Clients and Caseworkers
The Mission of Deeds is about transforming the lives of others who are most in need. A new story begins each time a client walks through the door. Our amazing team rallies to meet the needs of each client with compassion and respect. Behind the scenes gently-used donations are being prepared, beds and linens are being counted, the furniture is polished, lamps are cleaned and checked, then everything goes on display, waiting for a new home.

Caseworker and Client Testimonial
A caseworker wrote to us about a single mother coming out of homelessness,
“As with most of our homeless families she lost everything.”
After receiving our help, the mother sent us a thank you, writing,
“I just wanted to let you know that the furniture & other items given to our family has made our house into a home. Before having the items you have given, I worried about not having furniture for my children, now I walk around with a smile. Programs like yours change people’s lives.”
A client wrote,
“Thank you and all the volunteers of Mission of Deeds for presenting me with a brand new bed and all the bedding I needed and more. That Saturday night I had a great night’s sleep and suddenly all the other matters needing my attention seemed lots less burdensome because my mind was so much clearer and relaxed.”
A mother whose family had been homeless wrote,
“It means the world to us due to your generosity our home is complete and we are able to get back on our feet!”
A client wrote,
“Your care and generosity turned my apartment into a home. A simple thank you doesn’t seem enough”
A mother wrote,
“Thank you very much for all of the help of household items for my family, it has made things easier, we appreciate your respectful manor and are enjoying our new furniture, mattresses, etc.”

A client wrote,
“I am a grandmother raising two grandsons and our funds are very limited. Please know you make a difference in people’s lives.”
Single mother wrote,
“Thank you for the items you supplied to assist us with our new beginning.”
A single mother of three, coming from a shelter for abused women explained that she
“was so stressed, anxious, and embarrassed when [she] first arrived, but everyone made it easy to relax, making this a very pleasant and joyous experience.” After they received their furniture, one of her children exclaimed to the volunteer “This is my first real bed!”
A Veteran’s Services Officer wrote,
“I would like to thank everyone for their assistance in providing a completely outfitted apartment for my client. This is his first apartment in many, many years. He was not living in a safe environment. It is comforting to know he is now in a nice community. Thank you for all the wonderful assistance you provide to all those in need.”
The caseworker for a refugee family we helped wrote,
“Being treated with respect and compassion, I saw dignity and hope restored in the faces of these weary parents and smiles from the children.”
A retired caseworker wrote,
“Although I am no longer working as a social worker for the VNA, I still want to acknowledge the good and meaningful work the Mission of Deeds delivers. It not only addresses the need for individuals and families needing some extra help to put together a living quarter, it also provides great recycling opportunities for resource sharing. Thank you, Mission of Deeds, for serving the community and saving the planet.”
